How do I sign up for recruitment?

    • Filling out one of our online Recruitment Cards will have your information send directly to our Recruitment Chairs. You will then be put in our database and will receive information from FarmHouse via mail.

    How does recruitment work?

    • Over the course of the spring semester, we host three FarmHouse Experience Weekends at the chapter house. Our experience weekends are packed with activities that give potential new members an opportunity to meet our members, learn more about what we are, and gain an overall feel for life at FarmHouse. Potential new members are not required to attend all three weekends.

When are the dates of the Experience Weekends?

    • The dates for the 2011 Experience Weekends are February 11th-12th, March 10th-11th, and March 31 -  April 1st.

Do I have to be an Agriculture major to live in FarmHouse?

    • No. Men from nearly every college at K-State are represented in FarmHouse. We are proud of our Agriculture roots, and it is a field that is well represented in-house, but is by no means a requirement to join FarmHouse.

    Can I visit FarmHouse individually?

    • Yes! We welcome you to stop by our Chapter House next time you are in Manhattan. We do encourage that you contact the recruitment chairs so we can know when to be expecting you.

When is the deadline for recruitment?

    • We will begin selecting next year's pledge class immediately following our third Experience Weekend.

Who do I contact with recruitment questions?

    • Our recruitment chairs, their contact information can be found here.

What happens after the Experience Weekends?

    • Active members vote on whom to extend bids to.
    •  We will call those who received bids.
    •  We will send out an email to let those who accepted bids know who your new pledge brothers will be.

    What is a bid?

    • A bid is an invitation for you to move into the house and become a member of FarmHouse Fraternity. Once you have been offered a bid, you have two options:

    • 1. Accept the bid and move into the house in the fall semester (all new members are required to live in their first year).

      2. Decline the bid.

What if my Parents have questions?

    •  Parents can contact John Yarrow or Jeremy Holiday who can:
      • Put them in contact with a current FarmHouse parent.
      • Put them in contact with one of our alumni advisors.
      • Put them in contact with a University Administrator.
      • Answer any other questions they may have.
